What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a way of being that can overlay any aspect of life: it does not exist in a vacuum. A classic definition of mindfulness is paying attention here and now with kindness and curiosity. Mindfulness reconnects people to their five senses, bringing them into a moment to moment awareness of themselves and their surroundings. Research shows that mindfulness increases attention skills, reduces stress and anxiety, and improves emotional regulation. There are many ways to practice and experience mindfulness.
